Customer Review: To return, or not to return? In any case, not yet thrilled.
Hopefully after working a bit more with this lens, I will come back here and update this review in a positive light. But for now, having just got the lens and taking only a handful of pictures, I am hesitant. I am almost disappointed, only not quite sure yet.

Phoenix Smart Flash RF46C Macro Ring Flash Canon Digital SLR Cameras Phoenix Smart Flash RF46C Macro Ring Flash Canon Digital SLR Cameras The new Phoenix SmartFlash RF46 offers all the great benefits of a ring flash with true TTL compatibility for your Canon Digital SLR Camera. You’ll get even, shadow-free lighting for your close-up macro shots. The RF46 is ideal for all kinds of macro photography including nature, medical, scientific and forensic photography whether you are a professional or hobbyist. You can use the RF46 in your camera’s full automatic mode, semi-automatic mode (aperture or shutter priority), or manual mode.
Customer Review: great for the price
The flash works!! lighting is fine. you can’t have a filter on the end of your lens durring use because the flash screws on where the filter goes. Getting light on those really close shots are much easier with this flash. If I had spent more on the lens I would not have complained
Customer Review: Awesome for the price
I wanted to experiment with a ring flash… and I read the reviews and bought this one… Its light, and feels cheap… the hotshoe is plastic… but it does the job, and does it well… I have NO complaints… I’ve used it a ton… and found that I LOVE using it all the time… I’m always tempted to leave it on for random candids… it gives a cool flat look on multidimensional scenes, that has left alot of people wondering how I did it… I would buy this again and again!!! If it were a little better constructed it would be an automatic 5+ from me… but you won’t regret buy it… I know I don’t… and I’m usually a harsh critic.

Customer Review: Decent, but not great
Been using this lens for about a week now. Overall performance is Ok. The photos come out fairly sharp. However, when I switch over to my canon 50mm 1.8, the sharpness is way better than this lens. For more than 3x the cost, I would expect it to be close comparison, but I definitely love the sharpness of my 50mm a lot more. The other thing is that there is no IS on this. I gave my sister to take pictures and most came out to be blurry because I suppose she did not have steady hands. I also noticed that some of my shots were blurry due to the non-IS. If you have sure hands and steady, then this is a decent lens to have. I was shooting children and babies, so had to move around quite a bit, and the results were not good. The focus is not as fast as I would like either. I did like the fact that it came with a hood and a nice case. I really would like something as sharp as my 50mm that can zoom wide angles. I think I will be returning this one. Before this lens, I was using the canon 17-85mm IS USM. I’m spoiled by the IS and really feel unless Tamron or Sigma has that technology in their lens, I wont be switching over.
Customer Review: Just the lens I needed
This is a solid well made lens, f2.8, 7inch close focus approximate 1:3. I would like the lens shade to fit a little tighter. The pictures are great.

Sigma 55-200mm f/4-5.6 DC Telephoto Zoom Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras Sigma 55-200mm f/4-5.6 DC Telephoto Zoom Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras Sigma 55 - 200MM Lens for Canon SLR Camera 684-101 - This compact telephoto zoom lens was exclusively designed for use with digital SLR cameras. The image circle was designed to match the size of the image sensors of digital SLR cameras that also allows compact body and lightweight with overall length of 84.6mm (3.3in.), and weight of only 310g/10.9 ounces. It has a filter size of 55mm, maximum diameter of 70mm (2.7in.). This remarkably compact high performance zoom lens is ideally suited to a wide range of subjects. This lens has a minimum focusing distance of 110cm (43.3in.) and maximum magnification of 1:4. Digital cameras having image sensors larger than APS-C size, and 35mm cameras, should not be used with these lenses. If such cameras are used, severe vignetting in the images may result. The angle of view varies depending on the camera the lens is mounted on
Customer Review: Excellent quality, solid lens on a budget, Recommended!
I read somewhere the lens is plastic like feel, that is not true. In the contrary, to me the construction and mate finish texture what I liked the most. Have taken it to a few outdoor events and at least people who do not know about lenses ask how much I paid for it and are impressed with the price tag and over-all quality.

Tamron AF 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 XR Di LD VC (Vibration Compensation) Aspherical (IF) Macro Zoom Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras Tamron AF 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 XR Di LD VC (Vibration Compensation) Aspherical (IF) Macro Zoom Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras Camera shake can ruin your photos, particularly when taking telephoto shots or shooting in low light conditions. This Tamron 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 macro zoom lens, however, fights camera shake with its state-of-the-art vibration compensation (VC) mechanism, which delivers blur-free handheld images for incredible results. The proprietary VC mechanism employs a three-coil system that moves the VC lens electromagnetically based on signals originating from the movement of three steel balls. The lens element that compensates for vibration is held in place by the balls, so there is little friction and the movement is quite smooth. The end result is a technology that makes it possible to create exceptional images at slower shutter speeds under conditions where a tripod used to be necessary. You can also use subject movement to good effect with the lens, bringing out the contrast between motion and stillness, or shoot without a flash to evoke the genuine atmosphere of the scene.

The lens covers an extremely broad range of focal lengths, from a wide 28mm length to a super-telephoto 300mm length (the 35mm equivalent of 43 to 465mm). Even better, the vibration compensation works throughout the entire zoom range, giving you the freedom to create a wide variety of different images. Other details include a macro magnification ratio of 1:3, a rotational zoom, a minimum focusing distance of 19.3 inches, and a 67mm filter diameter. The lens, which measures 3.06 inches in diameter and 3.9 inches long, carries a six-year warranty.
Customer Review: Buying this with caution and testing…or you will regret this!
I own this for 6 months…had a great time travelling with this and my D700 Nikon camera.
PRO: satisfied that this lens is not as sharp as prime lenses, however, it is a general purpose walk about lens.
Con:
* camera and lens combination is heavy. Went to Beijing, carried it for 2 days, and used my G9 on third day. When back to this combination again on fourth day. alternating.
*after 6 months, I found that there was something wrong with the sharpness of the lens. Nikon service center tested to see if my camera had problem with focusing, and found that this lens had front focusing problme.
*went back to agent: tried two other lenses- replacement focused then blurred. Had exchanged the first lens when I found that the zoom was not smooth..at about 250mm, the barrel appears to have a slight jam.
*grey set: dont ever get a grey set for this lens. You will regret it, although the price could be $100 cheaper! You will get endless problems solving your lens problem.

Customer Review: my favorite lens in my lineup
So i’ve had this lens for about 2 months now and it is my favorite lens in my lineup.. it’s the best 50mm lens you could buy and i have no trouble with focusing issues. the auto focus is fast and at f/1.2 it’s highly useable. I also had the 85mm 1.2L and after a week of using both, i chose to keep the 50mm and returned the 85mm for a 70-200 2.8L IS. I recommend this lens to anyone willing the shell out the money for it, and whenever i let anyone try the lens out, they are immediately in love with it. although it’s expensive i think it’s worth every penny and am so glad i picked this lens up.
Customer Review: I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS LENS!
This lens is Awesome…if you know how to use it. This is the second time I’ve bought this lens. I’ve had all versions of the 50mm, f/1.8, f/1.4 twice, and f/1.2L twice. The 1.2 version is in a class of it’s own! I shoot with a 1D Mark III and had to micro adjust the lens +9. Now I can shoot wide open at f/1.2 all day long and get sharp pictures. There is no way I could do that with the f/1.4 version. Even after microadjusting it I would still get very bad focus shifts.

Great product, and compact. The perfect choice for a holiday trip without carrying a large volume of photography equipment. The AF is not the quietest, but it is not too bad either. Cannot beat this value for money!
